Well done - Iโm now on day 6
Tomorrow is my day - the last time I drink was last Saturday - Saturday has always been a day of drinking and watching sport - is it normal to feel anxiety about how Iโm going to fill the void ? Not having a can in hand watching the footy - But itโs just another day a guess
100% normal. Find something in a can to drink and enjoy remembering each and every play.
Just remember no one every wakes up thinking, โGosh, I wish I drank yesterday.โ
I had to stop doing things I used to enjoy like watch footy, boxing, play poker, xbox games, going out for meals, going to parties, having friends round, drunken naughty nights with the Mrs ( still miss them) but if it was a trigger I had to remove myself from the situation plus it was as boring as fuck without alcohol. I generally discovered I did all these things to occupy my drinking time and not drink bc the boxing etc was on, the drink was going to be there no matter what was on TV. A year later and bc of those small sacrifices early on I am still sober and enjoy everything probably more than I did then. At least I can remember it the next day or donโt fall asleep half way through bc Iโm too drunk and stoned. Congrats on your sober days BTW.
Just another day yup, maybe try a can of sparkling water. I feel the same just have something to fill the void, at times its a can of somekind of sugar free energy drink or soda go through the motions then i get over any kind of cravings. Making it to a week sober thats great keep up the good work, one day at a time!
Excellent advice , thank you - need to break the habit , so by replacing it makes so much sense - appreciate your help and advice - thank you too @jonathanlee213 will try replacing with soda water as not a lover of energy cans as the heighten my anxiety but what ever works best - thank you for the message of encouragement
Sparkling flavoured water might help. I
