Hi everyone, I came back here after multiple relapses.
Been here before with a different name (Kammie), but had to make a new account.
I’m from the Netherlands, Amsterdam, and could not resist alcohol for the last 20 yrs. This time, my attempt feels much different than before. I’m listening to podcasts of ex-addicts who stayed clean for a couple of years and how they experience their lives so much better. And yesterday when I was preparing a training about recovery from addiction with ex-addicts at my work I told them about me and how I had to tell about my drinking behaviour, because I felt like a fraud. Shed a lot of tears, but felt so relieved. One of them was saying: ‘So you are one of us, girl!’ And for the first time, it felt I was belonging to this group of brave and very cool people that were able to overcome the biggest struggles in their lives. So this was a huge step for me! Can’t wait to read about your lives!
