Welcome! I skipped a lot events when I initially quit. For me, it just wasn’t worth the risk.

Likely a hike during the day, followed by a warm bath and maybe some yoga. Evening will be hanging out at home and drinking some delicious Golden Milk and watching NYE and other holiday shows.

Like @Thirdmonkey, I also avoided gatherings where I would be surrounded by drinking as much as possible in the early days and weeks.

Baby that sobriety and you won’t wake up with a hangover or regrets. :slightly_smiling_face:

Offer to drive people if they have had too much. Stay home. Go to bed early. Plan something fun for New Year’s Day.

Welcome Diego! I’ll be in my jammies snuggled up at home with my dog and my husband. I may splurge on some ice cream and cake. I’m 72 days into my sobriety and will not risk it by stepping out with family or friends. Neither is a safe choice for me.

I don’t want to hijack this post but could you share your recipe for Golden milk? Pretty please?

New Year’s Eve my local NA activities committee is hosting a bash/potluck from 9pm to 1 am at a church (vaccine passport needed). Might go!

If you’re looking for a safe, sober environment in which to ring in 2022 maybe check your local AA/NA group websites and see if there’s anything going on.

Hmm that’s if this Omicron thing doesn’t prompt another lock down.

I used TS back in may during a failed sobriety stint and now I am back here again starting over at day 1. New Years plans are to hold myself accountable and also just take it a day at a time.

Hi! WELCOME BACK! the good thing about this place is that it is always here 24/7. Have you used the journal part of this app? You can also write a bite for yourself for if you do need to hit that reset button. I have had to reset many times. It is super helpful to go back and read my notes.

Yes I am using it now. I didn’t the first time around because I was like “journaling? Sounds stupid” but now I absolutely need somewhere to dump my thoughts so I can remind myself of how this first week feels.

That’s a great idea!! I have been working on getting into shape since getting sober. I used to run 5Ks and 10Ks several times a year before Covid.

The Hard 75.
For 75 Days:

  1. Workout twice a day. 45 mins indoor/45 outdoor.
  2. Pick a diet. No cheat days.
  3. Read 10 pages of a self development book.
  4. Drink a gallon of water a day. No alcohol.
  5. Take a photo of yourself a day.

If you miss 1 day or cheat. You fail. Back to day 1. There is no grace.

All sorts of extra stuff on internet. Working out does not necessarily mean running outside. I walk my outside due to hip issues, and it is winter and it does snow, so I bundle up.

Some people include 5 min cold shower everyday. This is not possible for some folks.
