I just started reading The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober by Catherine Gray. Within, the first couple pages I’ve been so inspired that I wrote a short post on my blog. Alcohol is addictive substance and therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise that people wind up having issues with it. Because it’s an addictive substance!!! Duh!! And society marketing doesn’t help!! Catherine Gray talks about the difference between the dictionary definition of being sober (which is horribly boring) vs what she thinks the definition of sobriety (which is amazingly brilliant) should be. I know right?! Wow, imagine that, we became addicted to a drug that’s peddled like candy and we advertise as always being fun. Billion dollar industry.
