Yep, same.
I tend to think that market exists for people who are not alcoholics. The smell and taste can trigger strong cravings for the real deal and greatly enhance the romancing of the drink. I personally have tried NA beer on 2 attempts at sobriety, they both failed. I have been tempted on this attempt as well, i ask myself why? So ask yourself why? What is the benefit? Is it worth a possible relapse? Only you can decide, you may never have an issue with it.
That’s actually a good point. It is very possible that if I didn’t have the NA wine in my kitchen I might crack open the real stuff instead. Knowing I have a different option helps me a lot.
Beer and wine was a huge part of my career for over a decade. I used to teach classes to restaurant staff and would do pairings for restaurants with their menus. I also always made sure there was at least 1-2 NA beer options for guests. There really are a lot of great ones out there.
There have many times throughout the years when I was working really long hours and not getting enough sleep, but friends would want to meet up so I would drink NA beer. I liked the flavor, but couldn’t afford getting buzzed because I would want to keep drinking and couldn’t with my work schedule.
I want to get healthy and not relapse so early or period.
I’m on day 4. In the past, when I’ve told myself I need to take a break four days was about it and then I would start drinking again. It would be mellow and within a few weeks it would be too much again. I’m just trying to figure my way through this and what I think might work for me.
I greatly appreciate everyone’s insight and opinions. Thank you all for taking the time to weigh in.
I was trying to type and couldn’t think off how to put it but it went something like this.
For me, I dont drink them. It would lead me to the real stuff.
