1 year ago I had very little hope that today would come. But 1 year ago today, i never could have imagined what one decision (and lots of therapy lol) would do to my life. I dont think ive ever been so proud of myself or my life. I have a sense of purpose and accomplishment that I feel like I have been chasing my entire life. Im so gratful for my sobriety and the blessings it brings every day.
Because I got sober I have a wonderful, healthy, constsntly growing and maturing relationship, my friends and family rely on me and want me around again, my body is healthy, i have a great job, i can afford to take care of myself and the people and animals i love so much, and I no longer wake up wishing I hadnt. Every day is a new opportunity for something new and amazing. My sobriety has given me the gift of waking up every day knowing theres something else great at every turn.
While I am gratful and so excited…this has not been an easy journey. Ive struggled, almost given up, and had to work really hard to get to this point. I cant wait to explore this next chapter and continue my sobriety for another year.
