A neighbor down the street has this cactus in their yard (fairly certain its a type of cereus) which has snaked itself around their mesquite tree. Been meaning to get a pic for a while now, especially when it flowers.
My immediate thought after seeing this ![]()

Definitely beautiful though!
Every summer, I have my tropical hibiscus tree. I try to place her outside, but she seems to bloom better indoors. I adore her beautiful pink flowers. She’s starting to bloom again, and I have about five flowers forming. I can’t wait to show them once they bloom.
I don’t (can’t) have many plants because my cats eat them all with disregard for personal safety.
But I have a few that are safe and they leave alone. Ish.
My fresh mint, they just smell this.
Basil. They just smell this one as well.
My gorgeous freesia that flowers biannually. In front of it is a miniature rose, yet to bloom this year. Blue does like to eat both of these sometimes…
They are just a few, and nothing fancy, but I like them and they make me happy.
Finally opened up! I’ve been checking every day for a week! The colors are striking out here in the brown/tan landscape!
Made a start with getting my balcony in shape for the season. Next is getting some new plants, just got the one today to have some flowers right now.
Huge pachypodium lamereii AKA Madagascar Palm at my garden center. About 20 - 25ft. I asked, and apparently if it were to sell ($750 USD), they’d get it out by taking the wall off the greenhouse.

Makes me think of my yucca of 30 years or something, finding its own way to some sunlight over the years. I´ve been thinking of cutting it up and re-potting some of the cuts for quite a while. But haven´t found the heart to do it yet.
