He’s ripped apart his bed. He did that shortly after he started using it. I constantly stuff the pillow/stuffing back in each day; he gets all wild all drags them all out again. Me thinks it’s time for a new bed (which he’ll inevitably rip apart)

Is he digging? And that’s what’s causing it? I don’t have a dog but I JUST saw a dog bad made specifically for dogs that like to dig on them! Maybe that’s what he needs and you to save your sanity :joy:

No, he chews on it to drag the pillows out. He seems to think it’s a big stuffed toy. But I might need to read about this digging bed you speak of! He does like to dig outside

He especially likes to back up and pounce during dig sessions

I simply love this thread! I haven’t been able to find any good photos, but with two puppies in my life a decade ago I had my share of destruction. A couple stories stand out. Chucho was such a chewer as a puppy, we got him at just around a month old as a foster puppy and ended up keeping him. He chewed books, wooden table and chair legs, pillows, everything. The one that was a heartbreaker though was my Birkenstock sandal. He had appropriate chew toys and we were watching a movie, listening to him chew away and at some point I said, “wow he’s being really quiet!” I looked down and half the cork on my expensive sandal was GONE (we were poor students and they were a gift from my mom). I had to keep an eye on his poops for a while after that and a better watch of my footwear.

Lupe has always been more prey motivated, as in wants to chase things. When we moved to Illinois from Tucson there was a whole new world of furry critters that drove her bonkers. Our old rental house had single pane glass in the doors and windows and she busted through several of them “chasing” squirrels. What a disaster. Just glad she never got hurt but we were finding glass months later. We replaced the panes with plexiglass and didn’t tell the landlord. Oh well.

Gemma got all four of the couch arms. I’m so glad they’re all out of that phase. I’m tired of buying furniture.:joy:

This weekend i bought a new dog house, the plastic igloo looking one. I gave my other dog her old one in her new run, it had been in a different run. Within an hiur they had chewed both units pretty bad. Luckily, there were some peppers growing nearby so now i have two SPICY dog houses

This made me laugh way too hard. :joy::joy::joy: spicy plastic!!! maybe dogs don’t have a taste receptor for spicy? Cats don’t have one for sweet. And I know with bunnies the flavor you want if you don’t want them to chew a thing is super bitter.
