I did take part in a student exchange program. I believe I was about 18 then. Long time ago. I lived with a family in Ypsi for 3 months then. The whole trip and my experiences there were left quite an impression.
Havenā€™t been to the states since then. But whenever someone posts a picture of the wonderful nature there, I get that itch.
Maybe one dayā€¦

What a lovely experience that must have been. Iā€™ll do my part to post more pictures so the itch can continue and that one day can be sooner :hugs:.

Thanks for the article. I didnā€™t know we had them in the UP (upper peninsula) but it does make sense. With the way things are going Iā€™m Ann Arbor isnā€™t too far away for them. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Will let ya know if I spot a black bear

I always knew DisneyLand was the first, but that Disney World is better. Not that it matters. Iā€™ve never been to either

Thank you for getting back to me. Itā€™s kind of like van life here in the US. Very cool.

Ive been to both Disneyland and Disney world in FL. In my opinion, Disney world has the best Cinderella castle. But, small world, the haunted mansion and pirate of the Caribbean are better at Disneyland. And of course Disneyland has the matterhorn ride and Disney world doesnā€™t have. The matterhorn is iconic in Southern California. You can see it from the freeway. So you know you are getting close to the park. Hugs

Thereā€™s going to be a big celebration at Disneyland this year starting in spring. Itā€™s the 70th anniversary of the opening of the park. As a season pass holder Iā€™m looking forward to it.

I hope you do still keep in touch with the family, provided the impression was positive? If not, it would probably mean the world to them

Freezing fog on my way to the meeting on Saturday. Looks like I live nowhere! It was less than 10m visibility :flushed:

I love NH. Grew up in Quincy, MA and did day trips and weekends in NH. Still devastated that Old Man of the Mountain fell off his mountain.

@Dazercat. I hope this lovely place hasnā€™t been affected by the fires. I know part of Malibu has been. :frowning:

ā€¦did we talk about this at some point and I forgot?!

I lived in Quincy for YEARS. All over. Wollaston, Quincy Center, South Quincy/Quincy Adams. Cool city, LOTS of changes over the last 15 years. Gotten very expensive like the rest of MA.

My uncle owned a restaurant in Quincy Ctr for 30+ years.

@TMACā€¦I knew you were from MA but didnā€™t know the city. West Quincy, Adams Shore, then Wollaston. Moved to Cape Cod in 1975 when I was in High School. Waaaay older than you. I went to Northeastern. Left MA in 1983! Down south since then. My grandmother worked at The Bargain Center (Bargie). In Wollaston I lived on Fenno St., right on the marsh. Canā€™t imagine how different it is now!! What restaurant did your uncle own?
