A roadside marker in my town. I never read it thoroughly before. It documents some of the very early institutional racism of the American Colonies. St Albans, referred to on side 2, is the “big town” about 10 miles north of mine, and became a railroad hub throughout the 19th and into the 20th centuries.

It’s salmon season. This was opener day on the Columbia River. I took these on the way out to go shrimping. Was a zoo! Çombat fishing!
