Please please help me get clean!

So after 14 years of using marijuana as a crutch for everything i want to get sober. i just had twin boys and when i smoke I don’t feel very good about myself and I need to change. I have a lot of triggers around me and it would be nice to have some people to talk to or have some advice from literally anyone at this point. I tried going cold turkey and only lasted 4 day (till today) and i had to take the edge off. i was getting so so angry. i need help.

Welcome @Spiritualpanda  :innocent: You are not alone in recovering from marijuana and you are also not alone in being a parent of young children (search “parenting”, “motherhood”, and related terms in the search field and you will find many threads). It is possible to get clean and to be the person you want to be.

There’s lots of wisdom here on Talking Sober. Here’s a thread I like:

Your #1 tip for sobriety (over 2 years sober)

You are not alone. It is a journey to find sobriety but at the end of the day what really matters is today, this day, this hour, this moment: learning to be aware of yourself and reaching out for help when you need it. You’ve already taken that first step here. (I still reach out for help to my sober contacts, multiple times a day, and they do to me as well.)

Welcome to the community Elana

Great job on working towards your sobriety. This is a wonderful community to be a part of. We have loads of threads here filled with advice, support and other members stories. You are not alone.

Matt has provided great links to check out. Staying busy is helpful when quitting anything as it keeps us too occupied to think about the urges.

The Checking in daily to maintain focus #72 thread is a great place to come check in as often as you like and gain support of your fellow members :pray:t4:. Hope to see you around
