Probably never will be, the flu been around for a looooong time, changes and adapts. Just like us.
I have more than a hunch that not all corona deaths by far are recorded as such in countries like India and other poor nations. Also treatment has improved quite a bit with remdesivir and steroids, reducing fatality rates. Right now the fatality rate (the number of deaths against the number of infections) stands at about 3% worldwide. (https://ourworldindata.org/mortality-risk-covid). The same rate for the flu is 0.1%. I agree that everything adapts and changes and covid will not go away. I will get my flu shot in a week or 2 though and will have to wait for the covid shot for a bit.

That, and we don’t know the long term effects. If it doesn’t kill you now, it might in 10 years from organ damage or something else. We really don’t know. Not a risk I’m willing to mess with.
