Sex & Porn Addiction Recovery

Get back on the horse. Relapse is sometimes part of climbing the mountain. You will beat it, but you just need to keep at it.

A relapse doesn’t invalidate that 3 months you had. You can still build on that and learn from the slip. Hang in there.

Yeah! Make it 4 next time, or 5 or 6. A year. You are strong to have made it to 3 months! I’m not even there myself right now. Just 64 days. You did that once, you can do it again. I do not think this addiction has the God on you that you feel it does. You are most certainly beating it.

3 months is a massive achievement!
Don’t ever give up! A relapse is like losing a battle, but you have not lost the war!
I can tell you, you are going to win this battle! You have the right attitude, this problem will be like a dust mite on an elephant for you! Just believe and continue, no matter how you might fail or fall, every child has to learn to walk and falls multiple times before he / she learns to walk! Our goal is to disrupt this kingdom of darkness and be liberated from it! You don’t belong to that filth Seb! You belong to the light! You belong to your higher power and He will take good care of you to liberate you from this repulsive scum! Just as He is liberating me!

I am not far on the way, but one thing I want is such a revenge on this habit on what it has done to me, how it has destroyed so much of my life, I will not take no for an answer, I am not going down without a fight! I am now 5 days clean from porn and 1 day clean from masturbation, but you will see more days of progress! I don’t boast of myself! Of myself I can do nothing, but by my God I leap over a wall! By Him everything is possible! For me and for you!

You have to find out why you fell and make a strategy for next time. How could you have been more sober? Was dthere anything that triggered you? Could that trigger have been avoided?

I installed boomerang on my phone and my cousin can lock my internet access at night. I can’t go online after 9pm. This is a help to me. I also leave my laptop at work and don’t bring it home and will do this for 3months just to get some space between me and that garbage!

If you have space in a boxing ring, you are no longer smothered and you can punch back! This is my goal, to get space so I can kick this habit! The devil is not happy with your decision to stop doing porn so he will also do everything he can to get us to fall! That is why reading scripture can help us massively! I think you said you were a Christian right? So by taking time out to really pray, read and talk to God about your problem then you will make progress step by step!

Let me know how it goes!
I’m rooting for you! You are going to win! Its a matter of time!

I am attending my friends funeral tomorrow, he died young,

Can anyone recommend some good books on Porn Addiction?
The Sexaholics Anon book is amazing! Really helping me understand how much selfishness dwells in me and that by acknowledging the truth and facing the truth about myself is a way out of this dismal state!

Any other book recommendations friends?

I’ve read parts of He Restoreth My Soul. It’s pretty good.

You might look up a book called “Always Turned On”

Thanks guys! I am 3 days clean today. I relapsed by looking at xxx 3 days ago.
Every day is a fight and if I can keep pure good noble thoughts and reject every evil thought or every impure thought of a woman/thinking of women in a lustful way, then I become happier and I can keep a stronger connection to God.

I hope you are all doing well! It’s worth fighting and scrapping for every ounce of power over lust! It begins when I confess that I am powerless and can do nothing apart from my higher power! If my higher power (in my case Jesus) is on my side, then I am invincible! I aim to keep the wall around my heart high and strong against these filthy thoughts that want to enter in!

Prayer is a weapon we can use to combat these self-destructive thoughts!

Keeping “pure good noble thoughts” is something to strive for it’s important to know how to handle those thoughts that aren’t so we don’t relapse. Some things I’ve done are saying the serinity prayer, say "the devil is knocking at my door, God answer it for me please or say these women are the daughters of God and deserve to be treated and respected in that way.
