Are you part of the SCA? Or do you just like bad ass swords?

Society for Creative Anachronism. It’s hard to explain. But it often involves sword fighting. Which is why I asked. Lol. It’s a very cool sword.

Hey, thanks for explaining! I’ll google it!

Oh gosh, I wish! :joy: But the friend who gave it to me, is from the Scottish highlands, and she has more swords! She could possibly borrow one!

It’s not really that hard to explain. I don’t know why I was being a lazy ass. Lol. People in the SCA pick a time period that they love the most, say for example the 1500s. Then they dress, and act according to that time period. They engage in social festivities, games, and recreational sparring. I’m sure there’s more to it than that, but I only went to a few SCA events when I was dating one of the knights.

They take it REALLY seriously. It’s like a way of life for them. And God help you if you call it role-playing or anything. They hate that.

Was just gonna ask is it like role playing, but maybe not compare those two then! :see_no_evil:

But sounds cool! There’s actually a fair mid August near the town I was born, where everything is set in 18th century and you can buy all sorts of crafts from cast iron to knitted stuff. And they even put on different kind of little shows, like firing a cannon.
