wow, I forgot what a man he was back then
Hi Eve. Always nice to have another cat join in with this lovely family. Great place to get support. And you might see a few pet pics too. They help keep us sober. Thatās why I got 6 of them. I need all the pet support I can get
OMG thatās the best
Had to take Zelda to a surprise vet visit yesterday. Her bladder is inflamed and it seems sheās lost a pound since she was in two months ago. Very worrisome. The vet told me to try giving her kitten food on occasion and also meat based baby food if sheāll eat it to help keep her from losing so much weight.
Oh Zelda. . You eat hear me? Make us all happy. Never a good time for a surprise. Did they give her any anti inflammatories or steroids?? Iām sure your all over it. I just know how not good it is if the cat donāt eat We always have a back up supply of canned kitten food just in case.
That baby food trick never ever worked for us.
She was given some kitty anti-inflammatory medicine and there is a frequency in Frequency Specific Microcurrent which in an unpublished mouse study showed to be very effective in reducing inflammation, and I happen to have the equipment, so Iām treating her for inflammation in that way. I was also told that giving her probiotics might be useful as well. In the end though, she is elderly and while her blood tests might have been good a few months ago, that could change at any time at her age. Iāve been able to coax her into eating by literally holding the bowl like a servant for her to eat Iām going to hit the store and grab some baby food. The worst that can happen is that she wonāt eat it, but itās worth a try.
Lucky kitty with a cat guardian who has medical grade microcurrent equipment (and a matching D20 pillow ).
Awā¦ Iām so sorry you got to go through this. Sheās so lucky to have you. Even though sheās an old girl it donāt make it any easier. Give her a gentle scratch on the head from me. Maybe sheās just having a bad week
What a great pic and a gorgeous Rubie cat!!
Sounds like a typical day
I donāt blame her. She looks Goddess like in that pic.
@Chiron poor zelda! I have a special paste, like the special nutrition in geriatric care, for my cats. itās used for recovery after illness and for underweight cats to gain weight. in Austria itās called Calo-Pet, produced by Vetoquinol. Maybe try something like this to support.
It doesnāt look like she left any room for you to sit too. . Itās all hers right now. Maybe sheāll give it up when itās time to eat.
Thank you! What a great idea! It looks like I should be able to get Calo-Pet here too! I really appreciate your suggestion.
@Dazercat and @CapriciousCapricorn You should be able to sit on your petsā laps since they sit on yours.
Zelda and my SO used to have massive fights over his desk chair. Sometimes she would hear him come home and hurry over to get onto his chair. It was like she wanted him to know that she considered the chair hers, even when she didnāt want to sit in it.
@Link What a great looking cat! I love tabbies!
Well, training rosie to play fetchā¦ sort of worksā¦she gets the stick, brings it backā¦then eats itā¦going to try a tennis ball.
How is your beautiful old girl Zelda doing? I been thinking about her. Update when youāre willing please.
Better stick a cat pic in here to keep in line with the thread right?
Lol I love that picture! What a perfect catch!
Zelda is doing alright. She had a good day yesterday and last night but then this morning she had a pretty bad episode where she was inconsolable for a few hours, which kind of sucks at 5am.
Right now she is sleeping in her new heated bed (this is the last one I swear ). Iām just keeping an eye on her for now.
Edit for added picture.
Thanks. She looks so comfortable as a cat should. I hope she continues to feel as good as possible at her old age. We love them so much and their unconditional love for us is so special. She is so gorgeous. Give her another gentle scratch on the chin from me if sheāll allow it.
