I guess I didn’t realize how painful it is for them. I had my nail file and clippers switching between the two. It felt like I was giving him a manicure lol

So it has been 3 months since I brought marigold home; she was saved from a situation where she lived her entire life in a crate and she was only allowed out to breed; she was not fed all the time she was abused and neglected. She was one of 16 German shepherds and 4 dobermans that were rescued from an abandoned mansions basement.
The top pic was the first day I brought her home, the bottom pic is from today at the park. She’s come a long long way.

I hate these stories, brings tears to my eyes, but love love love the ending. Recuses make the best pets. All mine have been rescues one way or another but never from a breeder. It really makes me hate people. But there’s plenty of us out there too. And I’m grateful for that.

Thank you, I’ll make sure I hug her for you. The only ones I got from a breeder have been Havoc and Sadie and that was only because of the breeds they are Havoc Belgian Malinois, Sadie Eastern European Shepherd/ Belgian Malinois mix. Cosmo was rescued, Zoey was rescued, and Marigold was rescued. Cosmo was found as a stray wandering around Delaware, Zoey was found as a puppy in a box along the side of a highway with her litter mates in Arizona, and Marigold was saved in my home state of NJ.

Sleeping around the house. They are happy, I’m happy again. And gosh, they need grooming … twice a day minimum and it will take weeks to remove all the fur balls and knots … but that’s all of no importance. They are healthy, we are together again, that’s all that counts
