Post your most inspiring photos of nature #2 (Part 1)

Very easy to do here. Just put your Christmas one in the ground and water. Fertilize a few times a year and voila…a huge poinsettia bush! If I had more space in the gardens I would plant more. Plus, the deer don’t seem too interested.

I’m in an 8b zone. I bet it would do well out here. I doubt the black bears would be interested in it.
How sandy is your soil?

Zone 9b here. Our soil is generally all fill, but we have the poinsettia planted at the base of a huge old live oak, so it likes oak mulch :herb: …if your soil is super sandy, I would add in lots of compost or manure. We are blessed with the perfect composting weather here, toss it in and it is ready by the end of the week. A little easier than 6 or 7 months of frozen compost up north!

got this flowering maple that has been flowering since I brought it home in February. I love living somewhere that isn’t frozen half the year.

So pretty! The blooms almost look like gone by hibiscus!

Oh that’s so beautiful. I love and miss poinsettias. Since they are poisonous to the pets I haven’t had any for 40 years. But this year I got some fake ones. They don’t look half bad. Got to do what you got to do. Right?

Yours look amazing. I didn’t even know you could grown them like that all year round. But I guess you got the weather for it.

I thought it looked like New England! Good day for a hike.

Place is called Hunters Creek - somewhere in upstate NY. I’ve mountain biked/hiked there since 1999.

As a matter of fact Emm I do have a pic or 1000 of the birds. They are little though. Not sure what kind. Don’t care. I was loading the bird feeders Sunday and they didn’t waste anytime coming in with me standing right there. I just stood there in the moment and enjoyed them @M-be-free49
Caught these 2 flying in.

Easier to enjoy the moment when your sober. And an old retired fart :older_man:
Good luck with Mom today.

Good to be back and see familiar faces still doing the work and supporting each other in the battle of addiction. It’s been an up and down with my recovery but my clean date is still the same.
