From tonight’s little trip I took to go see the river, just hearing it crack was unreal
Last crab season, I got this drone. but I couldn’t take it with me last summer and never flew it. Since I’ve been back, I haven’t made time to figure it out, or when I have time the weather has been horrible.
I made time last week and the weather cooperated. These are frames from my first flight video. I haven’t had a chance to focus on still photography yet. I was hoping to today, but I crashed it last time out. so I’m waiting on my replacement to get here next week.
Some learning curves are harder than others.
My savings on alcohol is equivalent to 75 days of not drinking for this drone. Im about 75 days into this crab season. This time I bought the replacement insurance. I also bought a cheap supposedly waterproof one to practice with.
I crashed this one into the ocean. It sleeps with the fishes. I might be able to get it at low tide, but most likely not. Its been a couple of days and I had to work.
Im going to get out with my Canon today!
Wow. What a memory. I haven’t heard the crack of a River or frozen lake or pond in 45 years. I grew up in New England. I haven’t even ever thought about that til I saw your pic just now.
Its the first time I’ve been that close to a river lining in this Spring, absolutely astonishing feeling the ground vibrate and just the slow melt , can’t wait summer is on its way
That’s cool Jason. It’s beautiful there.
I love it here!
Land’s End?
Went there on honeymoon 38 years ago.
Loved the Minack Theatre.
Looks wonderful.
Austin Texas. To London. To Blewbury. To Land’s End.
I couldn’t drive on the left My wife couldn’t read a map
We had to use maps back then
We fought and argued until we switched roles. Unforgettable best 2 weeks of our lives.
Always love your pics.
I love London. I lived there after high school because Mom was on sabbatical. I worked at the Savoy Hotel in 78 and most of 79. Then moved to Texas on my own. Fast forward 1983 I thought it would be cool to honeymoon in England. I love the English weather. My mum knew people that rented a thatched roof cottage in Blewbury. Stayed their a week. And thought I’d be fun to drive as far west as possible. We love to go back to somewhere in England now and again. I’m over do. Port Issac is on my list for next time. I’d move to England in a heartbeat if I didn’t have 3 grown up kids and 6 pets.
I was know as “That American!” I kept getting in trouble.
Didn’t respect the penguin suit enough I guess
But they loved to have me around.
Amazing photo.
Wow. Looks like an awesome place!
