I needed this walk to the beach so badly. It really made me feel great

Santa Monica Pier

I never get tired of being sober in nature especially when it makes me cry.

Looking towards Malibu.

Time to head up the hill. :grimacing:

One more look back.

I used to love going to Galveston’s East Beach to see the sand sculpture competitions. These are awesome! And that first shot is beautiful!

We literally stumbled upon them. I guess they were sculpted over a month ago! I was running around taking pictures of all of them like a little girl, I think people were amused haha.
I thought they were just so cool. Most of the artist were from the west coast. There was even one from Columbia.
The ocean is just so beautiful :ocean::heart:

Is it venomous? :scream:

No, though the bites do hurt quite a bit

These are from May of this year, over near Lake City, CO. I was telling someone how cool it was that he let me get so close. They replied, “That’s because Dusky Grouse are dumb as dirt.” :joy: Kinda busted my bubble. :upside_down_face:

Got home from a date last night, went to take Chief out.

Greeted by a massive horned owl.

Ushered Chief away to safety, then came back for a photo and some staring. I was no more than 5-6ft away, never been so close to an owl. It was huge! Totally silent as it flew off, pure stealth.

Coincidentally, a date from a few weeks back (nothing came of it, but whatcha gonna do) was/is a wildlife vetrinarian, and she told me they’re “feathered from eyelids to talons”, and that’s how they operate so quietly.
