Along a creek near my house is a colony of nesting Great Blue Herons. The colony is known as a heronry, and this one isn’t very large, but the herons do return to this place every year around mid-March for nesting and breeding. Their courtship dance is fascinating to see. These shots are a little blurry, but you’ll get the idea.

Awesome!

There’s one an hour north of me I’ve been wanting to get back to. It’s been a while.

We have one that nests in our back woods.

They’re here year-round, but there are way more than these nesting here. There must be other colonies around. :slightly_smiling_face:

Herring roe washed up on the beaches, it attaches to the kelp. When you look closely you can see the little black fish eyeballs!

Whoah! The herring run is good! They are so important for our oceans ecosystem. Its probably pretty rare to see that many on the beach. Thats their prize for commercial fishing. Thats is a fortune worth of herring caviar!

Yeah the fisheries really cut back on the amount they were allowed to take this year, 50% less is what I heard.

It was a beautiful weekend to fish and I did think of you while I watched them pulling in their nets. :fish:

My every day tree :green_heart:

I make a picture from it every time when I pass it.
I think for me this tree represents who I am: fierce, damaged…but not broken!

My first underwater photo while practicing in the lake. Salamanders

This was my 2nd attempt in the ocean. My first attempt was in daylight. I was struggling to control it. Its way different than the arial drone. I was still struggling here, but I got a few decent shots. I’m excited to try again tomorrow. I went back to the calm lake and practiced more after this. These were taken out of video footage.

Urchins.

Greenling.

How exciting!!!
I am trying to convinced my dad to buy us a drone. :upside_down_face:

Which one did you start out with?

My first drone was the mavic2 pro. At the time it was their best consumer drone. Since then, they have released newer drones for less money with better features like the air2s. They have removed it from their website.

The air2s has a better camera. It’s an amazing drone that I still use. I love it.

Buy DJI Air 2S - DJI Store

The mini2 is their smallest. @JB.5280 recently got one. I haven’t used it. They are going to release the mini3 soon, so it will most likely get less expensive after that. Its a lot of drone for the price. I’m tempted to get one.
Buy DJI Mini 2 - DJI Store

This is their newest release for the Mavic. I LOVE this drone!

I would love to see drone photos from you!
