It’s mushroom season in western North Carolina. We haven’t had time to explore other areas, but our little forest never disappoints with fungi…I love the indigo milky caps. My pictures aren’t very good, but I adore mushrooms and wanted to share. There are many more varities here. Magical!!

Wow those are super cool. I’m a huge fan of mushrooms and research on foraging and edible mushrooms (the food sort¡¡). I’ve only ever had the nerve to cook field mushrooms I’ve found as I’m scared to kill myself by accident

The dye off the blue is so incredibly vibrant!! You need to wash your hands quickly!! 
I feel you on foraging. We have so many varieties and I have taken a few fungi workshops over the years…but yeah
…if I don’t have an expert with me, I mostly just look.

My cat is a fierce hunter, she brings in tons of grasshoppers, birds, mice and rats. But she won’t hunt a beta fish. (She happily hunts our other fish in larger tanks.)
Instead she uses its tank as a water bowl and the fish always comes up to say hi.

I was able to pick for a couple hours and I miss camping so much!! We’re down to one rig so I can’t pack up and head to the mountains like I would love to, my husband needs the car for work.
