The last 2 days were cloudy and rainy and it brought the first real snow to the mountains where I live.

Gamble quail?
Quail yes! California quail. Not sure if they gamble. I will have to ask them. My phone camera just isn’t that great photographer not that skilled either.

This little snake was sunbading in front of our holiday cottage in France. Couldn’t see his eyes so I do not know what kind of snake it was.
I think it’s a Viperine! Nice spot!
Aaah, thank you! The owner of the house was thinking it was a Viperine as well. But he couldn’t be sure because it could have been another one as well, the eyes would have made out the difference. And I haven’t seen them because by then the snake was vanished behind the rocks again
