Post your most inspiring photos of nature #5

Thank you, Chris :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s at Ruislip, suburb of London. 1st photo is from Bessingby Park, the rest from Joe O’Neil’s walk close to Sidmouth Drive Road and Ruislip Gardens Station.

Ha! I used to live in Northolt for a while. I thought it felt familiar somehow.

Oh really? So you know Northala Fields
Where do you live now if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m in North Yorkshire, just outside Ilkley and Harrogate. I love London but I’m not a city person these days, I’m happier surrounded by countryside

Can’t beat the English countryside. There’s a show that I used to watch that shows it well. It was, hmmm…Escape to the Country

All Creatures Great and Small?

Nope, escape to the country

And I don’t know England that well but studied in London in 1998. Before the trip, we took a bus tour of England. Stayed a night in Coventry, 2 in Bath, one in York, Cambridge, and Portsmouth. Also took a bus to Scotland and took a tour of the country. Went to like the brave heart memorial and such. The bus trip was like 10 pounds, absurdly cheap. Anyways, I loved Bath and York and Cambridge was gorgeous.

York is beautiful, my mum lives there funnily enough. It’s such a historic small city, the Shambles is beautiful at Christmas.

I understand, I don’t consider Ruislip London. It’s great that the tube runs to here so I always can jump on and go to centre, but otherwise it’s pretty calm around here. Not the city rush for sure.
I’m a cyclist and so I get to enjoy lots of countryside. We go to Chiltern Hills all the time with my club, I love it!
Originally I am from a small 10k people town. So central London would not be for me either :slightly_smiling_face:

The Chilterns are beautiful. I grew up in Princes Risborough so the Chiltern’s are firmly in my heart. You’ve definitely the best of both worlds where you are, metropolitan city on your doorstep, beautiful countryside a walk away!

what a lovely picture…

Thanks it was a trip to the ridiculously overpriced Seattle Science Center. There is a butterfly garden inside with some lovely butterflies specimens!

As promised @james83 (who I haven’t seen in a few days  All good man?), my brother’s wisteria :hyacinth: An inspiring force of nature because it just won’t quit!

We’ll start small. The original ‘arch’ our dad built in '94 and what started it all. Obviously no longer an arch bc my (ex)bf and I cut out the middle section to prevent it from collapsing 9 years ago (e.g., 2nd photo)

This one wasn’t planted here, but sneakily crept under the deck I’m standing on from a plant 20 feet behind me! That plant no longer exists bc it was making it’s way into the house, but this one, my brother says “just won’t die”.

Many casualties…

But none so great as the pear tree :headstone:

Hard to see, but it’s almost to the top of that tree on it’s right (which has gotta be close to 80ft tall)!

Please research before planting one in your yard :folded_hands: I asked my dad what species it was, but he couldn’t remember. My brother said “The invasive kind :face_exhaling:”

My first go at a hummingbird. Dang they’re hard to capture. He’s kind of in the middle. I took about 12 quick shots and this is the best I could do.

Wow. Those pics are so cool! I love the wisteria flowers. I had no idea they were so invasive. I always wanted one. Maybe next life.
