I have a lot of pictures I could choose from but I wanted to post these two for a reason.

I snapped this picture after four hours of a massive fire burning behind my house (as you can see in the background, it was still burning). My neighbors and I all had fire damage but we were very lucky that we didn’t lose everything. The wind just happened to shift at just the right time the fire fighters said.

This is the same area taken a couple of years later just from a different vantage point (not my best work photograph wise though), but I wanted to show these two pictures because there are times in life where we feel that everything around us has been destroyed. It doesn’t feel like life can ever be the same. And then for a while life is hard.

But life is amazing. The world is amazing. We are amazing. The ability to come back from the brink, from the very bottom, is amazing. No matter how hard things are now, in time they’ll get better.

Some more sea lion shots from the reef. These guys are pretty intimidating out there. Im always a little nervous about one deciding to jump on the boat.

They are so graceful in the water. Ackward on land.

They live a hard life. Frequenty fighting amongst eachother. The winner gets all the females. They all want the females .They are all scarred up from their battles.

Is the bottom picture the females?
They must look massive to see all of them!

I hiked the heads for these sunset shots the other night

Yes, those are females. The females are over a thousand pounds. The big male is over 2000 pounds. They are surprisingly fast on those rocks when they chase eachother.

So beautiful! Amazing what you see out there Jason…

I wish i could focus on photography and filming more out there. I get moments in between moves that i get these shots. Ive been using my longest heaviest lens for these. Its really challenging on a moving boat. I get alot of blurry shots, and a few gems.

I spotted these deer and slowly got close enough to fill the frame at 400 mm. About 30 feet away, and just as it was getting good, a german shepard came and scared them away.
