Think less concretely and more abstractly. (There are lots of concrete examples of these but the answer is not the examples.)

Also - the answer is one thing. It is classed in three ways but it is one thing.

OOOH - ok - good to know… I will adjust my thinking…

Really think carefully about all lines in that original riddle. Read them all very carefully and think about how they could apply to this.

There are almost certainly dozens (possibly hundreds) of examples of these in your house.

:scream: Now my sleepy head is determined to figure this out before hitting the bed  … hundreds of examples eh? Ok – i need to sharpen my thinking cap and cut out all distractions.

Most of the examples are inside your body, but depending on what type of hobbies or other activities (professional or personal) you may do, there may be an equal or even greater number outside your body.

Edit to correct myself: there are 5 of these in a typical human body; I was incorrect in saying most are in your body. It’s likely in your home there are more than 5 examples outside your body.

You use them when you are cooking, when you are cleaning, and when you are walking.

This is a toughie! Do you have another hint?? Although you’ve given quite a few lol

It is very likely you studied the concept of these in a science or mathematics class when you were in senior primary or junior secondary school. (These are very fundamental to how things work.)

I’m off to bed but will check back in the morning. You’ve got this guys! You’re gonna get it  :innocent:

After closer consideration, hundreds may be high. Dozens, yes. There are almost certainly at least one dozen of these in your home, and like I was saying above, depending on your interests or activities, if you need more of them, you may have more of them.

Good night and thanks for the faith

It’s very simple. Very simple. It’s so simple it’s things you’re using and not even thinking about how they work.

as an engineer i feel like i should be shunned from my field right now… i’m thinking of things but then i don’t see them in my body so i’m maybe overcomplicating things :person_shrugging: don’t worry - still working through it LOL

Oh man if you are an engineer - yes you will be kicking yourself when you see the answer.

oh thanks for that! Now i feel so much better

ok --i think i may be onto something but trying to piece it together – joints in body and daily objects have mechanisms to make them work but then the ranked in three ???

JEEZUS!!! :scream:

How closely were you paying attention in your first-year engineering classes?
