Riddles… whoever solves it does the next riddle (no googling)

Interesting! I never would have associated a soda fountain with a loose change deposit. Never experienced one of those. Yes, can or bottle soda machines where you put change in, but not fountains. Sounds cool though.

The clue was:

My first (word) is “soda” (which emits carbon dioxide)
My second (word) is “fountain” (which is where you throw your loose change: in a water fountain, like at a park or a mall)
My whole (phrase) is “soda fountain” (which is near the order pickup line)

I have a name, but it isn’t my name. My face shows signs of age. I always mean the same thing, no matter what I say. I’m born in mourning, and I last 'til the end of days. Men plant me, but I never grow. They run from me, but I never move. They look at me and see their future, rotting in the fields where I bloom. What am I?

Do only men plant it? Or women too?

I’m thinking something along the lines of a headstone :headstone: ?

I was thinking same…

I’m feeling like that is close but it doesn’t “bloom”. (Right? Or does it?)

What can men plant that doesn’t grow?

Plant their feet?
Plant their hearts?

This is misleading because it says the X is not among vixen but the X is among vixen. Not that I would have got it anyway  just me being patantic, not even sure how to spell that.

:rofl:. Matt really got us with that riddle…I don’t think I would have gotten it - actually I’m sure I wouldn’t have as I am not well versed with my roman numerals…

It did have three roman numerals in vixen Vix to fit the riddle

I did pass around the riddle with family and friends and only one gave me the answer after a lot of deliberation :joy:. So I don’t feel so bad now lol

We’re first among cows but not among oxen,
We’re thrice among damsels and thrice among vixen

It is “first among cows but not among oxen” (as in “first among C-O-W-S but not [first] among O-X-E-N” (it’s second in oxen) The letter “C” is a Roman numeral and is first in cows; the letter “X” is a Roman numeral and is not first in oxen :innocent:

Ahh yes my mistake, helps if you can read with these things

If you throw me out the window, you’ll leave a grieving wife, but drop me in the middle of a door, and you might just save a life. What am I?
