Running in Recovery in 2024-2026

Dropping 4 “easy” in the bucket while listening to Andy Glaze talk about running Moab 240 and other things. Really good podcast! Totally recommend

I’m so excited!!! I just signed the hubs and I up for a race :partying_face::partying_face: He is going to do the 10k and I’m going to do the half. I have been trying to convince him to sign up and I finally did :clap: It’s not until October so I plan to go through the training block I just started for the 10 mile and then I’ll do a half plan after.

We won’t be running the actual race together cause they start the different distances at different times but I wouldn’t mind if we did some training runs together

I was able to do all 6 :partying_face: No walk breaks :woman_dancing:t2: The pace isn’t super consistent but I was just doing my best to not walk. It’s 28F now and we have a freezing fog advisory so it was like it was snowing so that was pretty crazy. Working on getting warmed up now

You got this!!! 32 sounds like perfect weather for those fleece leggings you got

I have another run tomorrow and it will be around the same degree except without the freezing fog lol Thankfully tomorrow is a progressive though so I know I’ll be nice and warm

5 “easy” The only way for me to keep my Hr low is to do walk/run intervals. I couldn’t get into a rhythm this morning but the miles still got done :white_check_mark:

Not too shabby for a fartlek. I was confused when I started and thought it was .25 then.25 and then walk and repeat 4 times. I missed the part where it was 2 miles of changing speeds :woman_facepalming:t2: Other than that this was a super good solid run! The body felt great and that always makes for a good run.

I feel sad for the hubs- I’m 98% sure he has a stress fracture. He has been running for about 4 or 5 months now and he refused to listen to me. I told him he shouldn’t be running everyday but he was. He went from doing no activity to run 2-6 miles a day… every day. He won’t go and get an xray to confirm but he can hardly put weight on his right foot. I told him it’s gonna take 2-4 weeks to heal and even then he will need to start back slow and small.

Im tired of treadmill runs. I hear it should be 60* monday so im looking forward to a run in the wild.

Solid effort today. Not feeling distance again.

@Runningfree what training app are you using that gives you that commentary? How much is it?

Runna and $20 a month or they have a yearly subscription that comes out cheaper. I tried it last year and didn’t think it was worth the money but I am finding it worth it this time around. I was more honest with the app about my pace and distance for this particular block I’m doing and I feel like I’m crushing it. Like the run Im about to drop

It was 37F this morning but no wind so it was very comfortable especially once I got going. Those negative consistent splits :heart_eyes:

Way to show up @Runningfree

I do the Runna app too, just like @Runningfree. I agree with her, it’s pretty awesome. Even though I’m taking some time off from running for various reasons, it definitely helped me set my PR last Fall. I did the year membership, I think it was $120. I’m looking forward to starting a new plan one of these days.

I may need to consider it. Idk if i can justify the addl expense on top of gyms, races, and virtual conqueror challenges im doing. But somehow i made a goal of running a 10k thru nonstop so maybe it would help with that

I’m the same with fitness subscriptions. I have my camp gladiator, strava and Runna. They add up to like $60 a month. The whole reason I stopped Runna last year was the price but I decided to restart because I really needed the help with structuring a plan. I find the runs aren’t repetitive like garmin and I am quickly getting back to where I was pre back issues. I also find that it’s pretty right about almost everything. When I did the 5k plan it predicted I would run 30-33 minutes and I think I was right at the 33 min mark. I doubted it all the way up until I actually ran it

I didn’t know the yearly was so cheap @Gorden I’m gonna go ahead and sign up for that next paycheck!
