Welcome. I downloaded this app… I think in 2018. After some months, I deleted it because I thought I could handle my alcohol addiction. Years after, I downloaded to delete it again a few months after. Now, I started to use two weeks ago after my last drunkness. I don’t remember all what I did or said, but for sure it should be ridiculous. I’m dealing with my depression post drunkness and I’m here again. Two nights ago, I attended for the very first time to an AA meeting. Thus, I think this time I’m more committed although the anxiety and stress is still high.
Remember, you got this
.
While I am new to this app, I’m no stranger to getting sober only to relapse over and over again. I risked my life and the lives of others while intoxicated, something I feel a deep sense of guilt about. But through inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs and therapy I was able to tackle the real problems like anxiety and depression, both of which I was using substances to ignore!
Glad you’re looking for help, this seems like a good place to start! Reach out if you need, plenty of people here that would be willing to listen! ![]()

Welcome. This group has been a huge help for me - first jump at sobering up in at least twenty years. Going to hit 90 days this weekend. From the high level description it sounds like our positions are somewhat similar; at least that’s what spurred my ass into gear to get here. Some struggles here and there but it’s SO worth it. I haven’t felt this much better in a decade and I’m in my forties and falling apart physically - that says something. The simplest but most effective thing I’ve pulled from this group is “focus on getting to bed sober tonight”. That one goal on a daily basis really helped get me on the road back in SEP and now it really is just one day at a time. Don’t focus on what you can’t control; just go hour by hour until you hit the pillow sober every night and eventually you’ll string the days together. It’s do-able. Just one day at a time. Best of luck and always reach out when you need to get over a bump in the road - there are lots.
