Seriously trying to quit

Hi @Albany95  :innocent:

You are not alone in realizing that you have a problem with porn. (If you search “porn”, “PMO”, “masturbation”, or related terms you will find many posts about it.) It takes time and focus to get past it but it is possible.

It took me a long time (almost 20 years) to realize I couldn’t do it alone. At that point I searched “sex addiction help [city name]” and found a sex addiction recovery clinic in my city. I started there and I was there for two years. I learned a lot and it helped me to understand the problem, and to see that there was a way past it.

In 2023 I joined a Sexaholics Anonymous group (www.SA.org), and that has helped me significantly. I have made friends in the group, and working on my recovery program there has helped me find calm and confidence - and sustained sobriety - that I never had before.

There are other groups as well - Neal posted a list of them here: Resources for our recovery - #64 by NealRecoveryCA
