Current bartender that’s in a bad place. Just curious to those also in the “Sindustry.”
I used to work in service and I cannot imagine! However, our bar manager at the time was 5 years sober, so it can be done!
Bartender here. Doc is opiates. 22 days clean. Booze was never my issue I’m sure that’s harder in a service setting.
13 years in the industry both front and back of house. Plus 6 months of current sobriety. If I look back at my alcoholic career, I can say honestly that it was not the job that did it - It was me. Anyone who tells me that its not possible to work in this industry without using is making excuses. I am so much better at what I do without the alcohol than I am with it.
