The Vortex. I took a trip down memory lane. I grew up close to here. I grew up in a very abusive home. I used to hide out here and get high. In the heat of the summer, it stays cool here.

Lots of memeries flashed through my mind during my visit. Really grateful to no be hiding out here getting high anymore.

I think children and adults with autism are some of the most honest humans. What makes it a challenge for society to engage with them - I think - is how present/in-the-moment/attentive, self-aware, and sincere you have to be, to be with them.

It’s the veils and pretenses in life that are bewildering. I’m grateful to the children and adults with autism whom I’ve known, for what I’ve learned from them - about being present and attentive.
