I’m not lower mainland (they’ve been much warmer than here, but couldn’t handle their snow) but yes, certainly odd. We seemed to be having no winter at all until the cold spell hit 
This was me yesteday when I couldn’t figure out how to upload and had no way to fight back.

“You put a gif in to your post exactly the same way you put an image/photograph in, find the gif that you want on the web and download it then upload or add you would a regular image.”
