I had a SCRAM bracelet put on today for the first time after a third OVI charge. I was sober for 2 months, the first night I let my guard down resulted in a terrible mistake. No one was hurt, but I’m beginning another legal process I desperately didn’t need.
I’m staying positive, as this is much better than the alternatives I was facing, and am ready for the life lessons to come

Pre-trial conditions of release and later sentencing to the care of Department of Corrections allowed me to physically separate from alcohol. And DOC really did have my best interest in mind, they wanted me to succeed and never show up there again.

That’s great to hear! I’m hoping for the same, I had a good experience with previous probation, inpatient and outpatient therapy. I’ve even continued therapy after the court mandated dates for the last 2 years. It’s been a rough road, but I agree, based on my experiences, I feel that the DOC isn’t always “out to get you.”
Thank you for the reassurance by sharing your experience
