Yeah to sober weekends
How is it going? Do you have plans for the weekend?
I’m drinking tea on this beautiful saturday morning. I’ve got all sorts of plans but lets see what I actually do. Tree things are sure. I will do laundry, walk in a forest - it’s going to rain but I dress up accordingly - and workout.
Sounds like a lovely weekend. No major plans here. I am hoping to do my swimming and workouts and possibly some baking. I’ve had a deep craving for chocolate lately .
What kind of tree things? Do you climb (I miss doing that when I was younger). Or planting?
Oh ..Noe that I think more on it ..maybe a typo and you meant three things …
Oh that is a great movie. Been forever since I’ve seen it ..may have to rewatch. Have a good night
Restful long weekend here. chores, cooking something yummi for my tummy , mowing perhaps, planting tomatoes perhaps. spending lotsa time with my pets. and having one of my two monthly coffees
have a good sober weekend everyone!
Maybe forest walk counted as tree thing. I was such a wuss as a kid I never climbed very high. And thank goodness there’s no tree planting! I’ve done that and well first tens or hundreds of saplings are fun but when there’s thousands to plant it becomes a sweaty work.
@Clayton18 that’s a great movie! Haven’t seen it in ages.
@erntedank sounds like a lovely day. What kind of tomatoes you grow?
@JazzyS baking something with chocolate sounds delicious. I think I might copy you.
ah - love the way you think.
Totally agree that planting trees is hard work and the bugs..LOL. Glad this is not on your agenda today
Enjoy the chocolate delight today
You as well. We deserve a little treat every now and then.
I grow a large variety of heirloom tomatoes, I like the different tastes, shapes and colours. Also doing my own seeds from some to have fresh seed in stock again.
I used to live by this thrift store that had VHS tapes for $.10 and that was the first time I saw that movie seven. The video quality is not as good with VHS obviously but I watched so many great movies from the 90s and early 2000s. I had hundreds and hundreds Of VHS movies. This was maybe 15 or 20 years ago and that was the beginning of my fascination with movies and learning what movies I like the most. There is at least 10 movies I can think of off the top of my head that I wish I could see for the first time again. I have jokingly said before that because of being an alcoholic and a drug addict there is many movies I actually do feel like I’m watching for the first time because I can’t really remember the majority of them from back in the day. I’ll have to see about watching seven again. I didn’t look it up but I think that is the one with Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, And Gwyneth Paltrow?
That is the one…I probably have forgotten most of it myself as it’s been so long and yup I was not in a clear state of mind when I watched it. Seeing some shows now I feel like I have deja vu but it’s just parts of my brain remembering a scene
I agree that VHS quality isn’t so great but still something about it for me. I have a special edition God Father box set on VHS and since it’s not in any streaming site I still watch on my VHS player.
That’s great. I bet your heirloom tomatoes taste much better than ones bought from a supermarket.
I definitely know what you mean about the déjà vu with watching movies from the past. And that’s awesome about the special edition godfather vhs. I have never seen that series. I don’t collect VHS anymore but I recently started collecting DVDs especially complete show series DVDs. Probably my prized DVD is book of Eli. Because that’s my favorite movie so far That I’ve seen. I have abandoned my belongings many times throughout the years but I’ve had the book of Eli DVD for a long time. Also gangs of New York is one of my favorites that I’ve had for 10 years or more
I have always found thrift stores to be really good for DVDs and VHS at least Where I live. And so this does not get derailed going to thrift stores is a fun thing to do on Saturday and Sunday. Whether it’s clothing, Movies, books or random knickknacks thrift stores are really fun to just walk around with a small budget Of like $20 and see what you get
They do indeed
But most of them don’t tolerate being stored and transported so it’s either eat them when they are ripe or process them in the kitchen to sauce, ketchup, dry them, can them
I have never thought tomatoes can be dried. Or do you mean like sundried tomatoes that aren’t fully dried? Those I know.
There are several varieties you can dry completely e g. for making veggie flakes or semi-dry to put in olive oil or use as sundried tomatoes.
Thanks for teaching new things. I love how there’s always something new to learn in the world.
That’s something I love on here too Soooo many interesting things to learn
I guess on some threads I’m a year behind.
