There he is.
Happy 27 months sailor.
Thatās a great photo Jason - wow! Iām happy for you. You deserve to feel proud about this - sheās a beautiful ship and youāve earned your place as skipper (captain? Owner? Whatās the right word)
Soā¦ question: does Charles Darwin have enough of a beard to be a fisher? Or is there another requirement:
He did sail all the way to the Galapagosā¦ maybe thatās when he got it
Nice one!
Remember to change your setting to āhover in placeā if the connection drops out so you can circle back to itā¦ Donāt want it flying off trying to return to a homepoint somewhere crazy.
Love your work, mate.
He looks pretty salty. He could get a job fishing easily.
This boat isnāt mine. I will be fishing mine soon. Iāve been working on it. Sheās almost ready.
Awesome! Iām looking forward to seeing her
Youāre killing it man! Iām super grateful i get to watch your journey.
Spent day 900 on the river. I opened my day counter this afternoon and couldnāt believe i hit day 900! 3 or 4 years ago i thought staying sober was impossible. I am proof it isnāt, and i must say Iām pretty proud of myself.
Day 900
Congrats Anthony on the 900, you should be proud!! Nice looking fish too!!
Great job Anthony on a cool 900
Congratulations
AWESOME Anthony ! .
Wow, Olivia, yours has gotten long, no? I love the asymmetrical cut. I might be headed that direction tooā¦haircut Friday!!
900 days - wow! Thatās a wonderful achievement.
I appreciate your shares brother. I admire how you make time for things that matter, family and being on the land (and the river). It feels good & healthy and I think thatās valuable.
Congratulations!
Congratulations on 900 days . Amazing work my friend
I had it cut a few months ago but just to maintain the shape. The longer side isnāt even shoulder length tho. I like this asymmetrical too! The shorter side has a cacadoo vibe going on in the morning, lol.
Thank you everyone! And thank you @Matt. I have like 3 to 4 months off during this time of the year, so i like to spend it doing the other things i love to do.
Iāve been super nervous about flying it while the boats moving. Iāve been practicing landing it in scenarios on land with nothing moving. I take off and land on my boat a lot. The Keta isnāt as big as the Lacie Belle.
Iāve been wanting to film us crabbing, but itās so fast paced and close to home I donāt get a chance where I feel comfortable enough to attempt it. Weāre grinding from the moment we leave the dock to the moment we land the boat. I bring it frequently, and Iām always a little disappointed that Skipper wonāt slow down for a moment.
Yesterday, we went cod fishing. Our routine has always been set the gear, let it soak for 3-4 hours. I do wheel watch. We pull up next our buoys, Skipper takes a nap. I keep an eye on the buoys and drive the boat back when we drift away.
Perfect opportunity to fly the drone. I launch the drone and skipper decides to go to the other end of the set. I had 60% battery. itās about five miles so I followed us getting epic footage. My battery warning goes off. I thought what if it flies to where I launched it. Return to home is a safety feature. The home point is where you launched.
I decided I need to land now. I made several attempts. The drone wasnāt responding to my controls when it got to the boat. I realized the obstacle avoidance system was preventing me from landing. I switched to sport mode, which flies really fast with no obstacle avoidance and got it to the deck just in time. Two percent on the battery.
I decided I was done flying for the day even though I had two more charged batteries. I put the drone away. Wheel watch returned to normal. A pod of porpoises came. I cracked propeller when I landed so I didnāt try and film them. they were close to the boat too.
It was our first cod trip of the year, and my long line videos have been doing good, so I had prepared my cameras the night before. I forgot them. The fishing was awesome. Big cod almost every hook.
Bad luck film day. Epic fishing. I saved the drone. It was a good day!
The drone crash is at the endā¦
Setting to hover is a great idea. I think I will wait to film from a moving boat until Iām driving mine. I can turn around and drive to it. Current skipper is tolerant of me filming as long as it doesnāt interfere with working.
@Dan531 following your journey has been good for my recovery too!
Keep it up.
Welp here we are, Another day to be grateful for!
Happy Tuesday yāall just for today Iām choosing not to pick up that deadly first one!
I love the tattoos
