Haha, I live in a crowded place I grew up in a small ass dirt poor area, after the mines and mills left,
I wanted a life in the city, then I got it, and I was like nah I want my quaint little town back, and I went back and it was too quiet for me, I guess I’m a city boy
I go back and forth. I like the convenience of city life but the people . So I frequently do mini getaways to unpopulated areas throughout the year. Unfortunately I can’t afford two homes. So for now I live in the city and long for the mountains or rolling hills or whatever is non city. Except West Texas. I can’t long for that.
@Alisa that’s one of the few places in Texas I haven’t been but we really do want to go. Everyone I know who has been to Big Bend says it’s AMAZING! Texas has some fantastic state parks. I love the hill country - middle of the state - also. Palo Duro Canyon outside of Amarillo is gorgeous too. That’s the only thing I’ve ever enjoyed in West Texas.
Sorry to hear about your friend It’s said if someone doesn’t get the chance to be sober or clean and discover the beauty of life without drugs… I consider myself very lucky!
Your photos are nice, I wish we had your weather.
Are these photos from 40 years ago then?
I’m not that old!! Ha ha. No, they are maybe 10 or 12 years ago I guess. On a clear day it’s beautiful but the popular routes are a lot, lot busier than they were a few years ago. So if you go again and get some sunshine choose carefully.
Thanks!! I’m glad I could put a smile on your face
I think I have convinced the hubs to take me this weekend I’m excited, I think it’s gonna be cute and I can’t believe I am getting him to go
You remind me very much my father He never had beard or long hair, just mustache, but he had your eyes and nose. Every time I see your selfie it makes me smile, thank you.
I have maybe 2 or 3 fotos of him only but Im not watching them often, to emotional.
A friend from here alerted me to the possibility of having a counter counting down instead of up. So here’s my new counter counting down to my birthday November 6. I didn’t celebrate or even acknowledge it for 15 years at least. Not sure how or what yet but this year I won’t let it pass unnoticed
Well done Menmo (this is a huge step) - Yes, i think it is super important to take note of your birthday and celebrate in some way. You still have some time to come up with something - im just glad that you will not let this year go unnoticed.
