I can tell my injured medianus nerve after two surgeries improved a little bit. It does not says that on paper, but I can clearly feel better. Even thumbs up looks better and I have less pain and inflammatory symptoms lately

Day 986… as I close in on that big 1.0.0.0. DAY Milestone, in my “memories” on my phone a pic from 3 years ago popped up… The first pic is from Aug 1, 2020 (3.5 months before I finally gave up alcohol)… The second pic is from yesterday (July 31, 2023)… it is amazing to see what time can do for/to someone. I may now be 3 years older and getting awfully close to the big 5.0. (next year) but to me I feel and look younger now then I did then. I can definitely say Im SO much healthier, and thats a NO DOUBT! The last pic is of hubby and I from Sunday. We braved the hot temps and had a splendid afternoon today!

I personally believe that we just have this one glorious life to live and I try my utmost best to remind myself of that fact. Some days its easier to do than others (I do struggle with thoughts of drinking at times still), but I try to stay focused on how precious our time here is.

Love this! I’m not sure if we will ever be free of the struggle (especially since alcohol is so readily available and accepted) - it’s good to know that we have chosen life and health! Seeing the progress really helps keep us motivated… thank you for being a lovely inspiration.

Thank you Binx! So so much!! I feel and look (if thats even possible) more like my “old” ie younger self nowadays. I dont feel as if Im aging in reverse, but maybe as close to it as possible!

Thank you. The struggle is very real unfortunately. Im justing taking it one day at a time and try to remember the bad days so no matter how hard things get now that going back to the alcohol will just aid me in the downward spiral of self despair.

Four days ago I decided I needed a refresher course in what the bad days looked like. I can tell you now, I do NOT recommend it.
You look amazing, feel healthy, don’t trade this off for alcohol. I think we both know that moderation won’t work either, because there is no middle ground for us. I have 3 days down now, and battling the horrible first two weeks of sobriety. If you want to know a real struggle, THIS struggle is real.
Keep going forward in your sobriety, because the re-do is painful. If you are under pressure and feel a relapse coming on, please talk to the amazing people here. Protect that sobriety with all you’ve got
