That ring is the only jewelry that survived my drinking. I got it on my 18th birthday and it means a great deal 2 meā€¦ everyone in my family had oneā€¦ my mother had a cast made from her ring to make the one on my hand. Sheā€™s been gone 15 years and ring continues to surfaceā€¦ move after move and having my valuables stolen everytime I blacked out around someone I didnā€™t knowā€¦
I just had to share this with you.
Thank you @Dazercat @Conor689908

Do you live close to the beach? I find that being by water calms my soul.

Thatā€™s a great plan, I like that. Me and you both!

Heyā€¦ Im so glad you have some truly supportive people in your life to talk to. Thatā€™s great to hear about your co worker and your mom. It truly is! I know my youngest (she is 17) was over the moon when she found out hubby and I quit. Now Iā€™m shedding the weight and she genuinely seems happy for me. Anyway, it really is fantastic you have such a great relationship with your mom!

Iā€™m a michigan in Chicago. Lol

Cool. Itā€™s got some neat history.
Hereā€™s mine.

I had to crop out most of my old dry hand :scream:. It looked hideous :grimacing:

Not much of a story behind it except my new found faith in Jesus. 15-20 years ago. A few mission trips to Guatemala. And strength to get through my childrenā€™s addiction. Since I never take it off Iā€™ll never loose it.

Oh and I use to have it on my right hand. But I lost a lot of weight on my sober journey my wedding ring flew off one day and it was lost for a couple of weeks :scream:. So now I wear it on my left hand to keep my marriage in place?
