Sober Selfies #8

Hey man, I just saw your original post. If one of your main goals is fitness, have you ever given any thought to hiring a personal training?

Even if it’s just for a few sessions it might get you focused and on track. Just an idea! I’m toying around with the idea myself because I feel that I’m starting to hit a plateau with my weight lifting and could use some outside influence.

Sorry if the advice is totally off track lol

Great photo, love the tattoo(s)!!

Aww man, I’m sorry to hear you’re not doing well right now. Know that we are all here for you. I know it can be so incredibly to drag oneself out of the depths of dread, but you’ve come so far already, you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for. Please keep your chin up, you can get this turned around… I believe in you, we all believe in you!

My favorite movie quote of all time. Joe dirt “life’s a garden, dig it”. You’re doing an incredible job. And like @RosaCanDo says make it to that apt. Everything will be okay.

They are feelings not facts.

@jjcarson92, this is a real nugget that, once I learned it and internalized, has gotten me through all sorts of episodes. All things pass with time and it is possible to wait for that time to come.

Hey Steve.
We don’t interact on here much. Probably not at all. I don’t know your story. I do see your selfies and you got twice as many days sober as me. I see you fighting the anxiety battle, maybe the depression battle. Work fatigue. And you’re still sober. Some how you’re still kicking ass. I really admire you for that. Your such a fighter. I admire that a lot in you. I hope you make that appointment today. Or whenever it is.

I feel uncomfortable giving advice to people that got twice as many days as me. But I do know I can share what works for me and you probably know by now to “take what you want and leave the rest.”
Gratitude is my best tool. Everyday I do my gratitude list. Sometimes when I’m down I run through what I’m grateful for in my mind. Sometimes I do that 4 or 5 times a day. It usually helps me at least a little bit. Sometimes a lot.

And the Breethe app helps me a lot. I hate working out. I despise going to the gym. Sometimes I put on just a 5 minute guided meditation from the app. Sit in my car in the parking lot and listen it it. Just 5 minutes. It always helps me.

I hope you feel better soon. You’re so worth it and I admire your strength and fight in this battle of sobriety.

I love living so close to so many zoos. We have a membership to brookefield and we go to lincoln Park a lot too.
Where I was in Michigan we weren’t close to anything but the beach :joy:
Here we have the zoos, the aquarium, the field museum. Everything is within the limit of time my kids are good in the car before getting annoying :joy::joy:

Windy day here in New England but got up to 61 degrees and we have started to unwrap the boat. I can almost smell that salt air. :sunny: :passenger_ship: :ocean: . Sobriety has brought me so many blessings. Always find gratitude even during the most stressful of times. :yellow_heart::blush:

I didn’t reply to your post yesterday… i was thinking about it after though and wanted to let you know how much inspiration i’ve gotten from watching your journey and reading your posts. My guess is that every time you encounter a challenge, it’s just an invitation to grow - and for everything i’ve seen of your journey, you do just that. Keep growing, friend, and keep sharing with us. :orange_heart:
