Sobriety Tattoo

You could get your sobriety date tatood on you. Then it would be suuuuuuuuper hard to drink… youd need a new date tattood every relapse.

The date would take a lot of courage. Now that is a commitment!

My friend has 7 tally marks (so far) above one knee for drugs and 1 tally above the other for alcohol. She adds to them every 1 year anniversary. It doesn’t say anything.

I have Isaiah 41:13 on my arm. I got it during my first attempt at sobriety. It means “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says Do not fear; I will help you”.
Really stuck with me.

How many months or years in. Mine waited till my second year then I knew for sure wasn’t going back. It depends on you get something you feel stong about that helped you in sobriety. Getting ink is a hug step of you being sober it should be a symbol of what you’ve accomplished in your journey. I always say my sober ink is my solid they’d have to skin me if ever went back😁

My first ink of my sobriety was my 2yr coin given as gift from a very important person in my life. Again the importance of your ink and the strength you find from them. These are my motivations best thing about them I see them everyday. And for anyone in recovery sometimes you need that help😁

If I had the chance I would do a whole back like my sister did

I really should go back and re read some of my old posts! Seeing this come up again is a great reminder for me to keep going strong.

I got this one 4 weeks ago. I had not stopped drinking yet but my transformation was underway.
“The lion symbolizes strength, courage and leadership. In one word Dharma. The roar is considered as one of voices of Goddess. A lion’s roar stops you, it is a terror that shakes you up and draws you into something beautiful.”

My current ones are kid related. My right forearm is dedicated to my son that survived heart surgery. My left is all of their names. I think a sobriety tattoo is an amazing idea!!

I’ve got two sobriety tattoos I’m thinking of.

The lotus/unalome is for the inside of my right forearm.

The semicolon is for the inside left wrist (hidden under my watch band).
