I got tats covering up my track Mark’s too
If I had the chance I would do a whole back like my sister did
I really should go back and re read some of my old posts! Seeing this come up again is a great reminder for me to keep going strong.
I got this one 4 weeks ago. I had not stopped drinking yet but my transformation was underway.
“The lion symbolizes strength, courage and leadership. In one word Dharma. The roar is considered as one of voices of Goddess. A lion’s roar stops you, it is a terror that shakes you up and draws you into something beautiful.”
My current ones are kid related. My right forearm is dedicated to my son that survived heart surgery. My left is all of their names. I think a sobriety tattoo is an amazing idea!!
I’ve got two sobriety tattoos I’m thinking of.
The lotus/unalome is for the inside of my right forearm.
The semicolon is for the inside left wrist (hidden under my watch band).
Stunning!!
Are there any new recovery tattoos out there?? I’m planning on getting one here really soon that embodies my idea of recovery. I’d like to see what everyone else has done!
Nice work!! this
I was just thinking to myself of getting a one year sobriety tattoo once I’ve reached that goal, for motivation and reward.
Dude.
Your ABS are on a different level.
That’s what putting in the work looks like.

I should be thanking you for giving us something good to look at hahah!!! All being silly aside… your Truely a insperation!!! Keep up the great work on all levels!!
A lotus is perfect because it’s a symbol of Buddhism, and Buddhist believe that the root of all suffering is pleasure, and the root to all happiness is discipline. And getting sober is a discipline if you think about it.
I’m going to do the same.
I am planning on getting a sobriety tattoo. I’m going to get a simple crescent moon on my wrist and then each sobriety birthday I’m going to get a star under that. Eventually my whole inner arm will be lined with stars
I got my phoenix tattoo almost 2 years ago when hubby and I first quit drinking at that time. We had stopped for about 4 months when I went and got it done (in 2 - 4 hour sessions). Sadly we started drinking again a couple months later and kept going until just 6 or so weeks ago. It is still and will remain extremely meaningful for me. The pic is from last January when I went and had it touched up.
Editing to add… the thing that drew me to the Phoenix is how it signifies rebirth and new beginnings and how one can rise from their ashes to become beautiful again. Even if we stumble along our way, a new day is just around the corner to start anew.
That is awesome! Psalms 27 is my favorite Bible verse too.
