No socks! If my socks are on when I get into bed, there’s a long process for removing them. It’s a whole thing.
No socks, unless I’m sick. Then it’s socks over Vicks Vapo Rub on my feet. It feels like a spa day when I’m feeling icky.
No socks because feet are necessary for regulating temperature. If it’s too cold stay fully bundled under the blankets. If it’s too hot toss the blankets off completely. BUT…if it’s too cold to go without blankets but too hot to stay fully under blankets just pop out one foot and you are suddenly at the absolute perfect temperature for sleeping.
I do that too. I read once it’s a self soothing activity for anxiety. I wonder if it’s an ADHD fidget thing. Who knows. I used to think I was a weirdo but now I know I’m not the only one that does it.
I’m generally a hot sleeper so no socks but I’m like @SassyRocks and will start the night with socks on in colder temps and generally pull them off. I often have a pair next to the bed! I struggle with the blankets and my husband who needs his feet exposed, I just don’t like that at all! We battle it out at night along with a dog that wants to be under the covers but she’s too hot for me to sleep next to usually.
I like this too
No socks. My feet are always sweaty. Even when they’re cold.
Socks when I go to bed and my feet are cold. I must work them off in my sleep, though, as I always wake up with them off.
Like some already wrote, socks in winter and needing to search them somewhere in the morning as I get rid of them off during the night.
At the moment, no socks for sure. Wet t-shirt helps atm. Certainly a new level of warm for me.
Wow! So… based on these replies it seems like I’m the weird one
How interesting, and definitely not weird unless I am weird too I have just woken up and still doing it!
@RosaCanDo having an animal and husband in the bed can be tense at 2am, lots of grumpy rearranging of covers (and cats on those covers)
I second this. Not to mention whatever that might come after you when you need to go up from the basement at night.
We have our laundry room down there, and I just simply don’t go down those stairs after dark.
I’m “lucky”. My husband has so much JUNK under the bed even a tadpole couldn’t lay in wait under there.
Definitely socks on no matter what the temperature. It’s a comfort thing. Often off by morning but I can’t fall asleep unless I have them on YES !!
Great topic!!!
When it’s hot: no socks. Exept I have a stuffy nose. Warm feet with socks on = nose clear again.
When it’s cool it depends. Sometimes I can’t fall asleep because I feel a little bit cold. Socks on, wait for 5 minutes and I snore like a tractor.
When I feel too hot in my socks I also can’t sleep! Socks off, blanket off, pyjama off, cool shower, socks on, one leg out of the blanket, socks off … . happens in winter when the bedroom temperature is too high for me, I prefer it cool
I’m a barefoot, both feet out the bottom of the covers sleeper
My whole family thinks I’m nuts, though, half of them sleep with socks on and all tucked in
When I was growing up, winter nights made our house cold. The temp could drop to +17°C / 63°F indoors. Woolsocks were necessary, but I never wore regular socks to bed.
I haven’t worn woolsocks to bed in a long time just because it’s usually warm enough inside.
So… I say yes and no
Socks in bed are just wrong. Only time I’ve ever slept in socks is when blackout drunk! My wife see no issue with it and is comfortable sleeping in socks - I find it weird. I have to prise my daughters stinky socks off her feet at bedtime - she loves sleeping in socks. Must take after her mother!
My daughter has been known to sleep in her football socks, rolled down, but still! Stinky and enormous. Agree, they are all wrong!
