Some advice I recieved

So, when I first started considering getting better, and ‘trying’ to get better, some of the best advice I ever got was given to me that I would like to share. It may sound mean at first, but keep reading.
You are not special.
What I mean by this is: you are not an exception for recovery. Even though getting past your addiction seems damn near impossible from where you sit now, anyone can get better. It’s not a “universe will pick and choose who gets better” type of thing. It’s a determination type of thing. It’s not about the world around you or anyone else at all. It’s about you and your addiction. You were always strong enough to fight this battle. Now is the time you choose to win it.

I hope this helps. It helped me.:heart::heart:

You make a very good point. I agree, in an existential sort of way!:laughing:
