Songs for Sobriety

Be Brave
Being brave for me is admitting that I have an addiction. It’s only in admitting it that I can find freedom and help. Also, being brave is saying no to the drink.

“Today
I don’t have to fall apart
I don’t have to be afraid
I don’t have to let the damage
Consume me,
My shadow see through me”

This is my goto…

Specifically:
"Would you dare, would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the paiun that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy thats coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

Song popped into my head when I saw your username @OnTheVerge

Can totally be a sobriety song. Lol, not sure if it is cuz this band rages! But we can pretend😉

Shinedown frontman Brent Smith explains: “’Cut The Cord’ is a wakeup call reminding us all that we can control our own destiny by finding the courage and tenacity to destroy whatever it is that’s holding us back. The process may not be pretty or perfect or even easy, but absolutely necessary.

This song really spoke to me over the last week. I hope i have some rocker fans that know it and can relate. Seems like every other song about alcohol is country music. I’m sorry but I’m not country and don’t believe in God despite growing up in the South. Anyone willing to take me under their (non-religious) wing for a few weeks? Maybe someone in the medical field? Might be helpful because I’m failing right now.

It takes disaster to learn a lesson
You’re gonna make it through the darkest night
Some people betray one and cause treason
We’re gonna make everything alright

Well the worst of times, now, they don’t phase me
Even if I look and act really crazy
I went way down, she betrayed me
Now my vision is no longer hazy

I’m very lucky to have my crew
They stood by me when she flew
I’ve been knocked out, beat down, black and blue
She’s not the one coming back for you
She’s not the one coming back for you

If I fall back down, you’re gonna help me back up again
If I fall back down, you’re gonna be my friend

Love this song man!
