Sparks Journey after OWI

Great job Sparks. Drinking robs us of many nutrients, and now your body is finding a way to replace them. So happy for you! Keep pushing that booze away today.

Hi Sparks…. Glad you are hangin strong ! :+1::flexed_biceps::folded_hands:

Oh definitely, when I quit drinking, I was drinking water nonstop and I was still dehydrated. Which is really scary because alcohol is a diuretic which means I basically was depriving my body of water for years and years.

Update. I made it a week.
A lot is still changing in my body. It’s been crazy. Dehydrated. Digestion issues. Hunger. Mood swings. And so damn tired. I can get up in the morning but i want to go to bed at 8.

I have a wedding to go to this weekend for a good good friend. Already mentally preparing.
One day at a time.

Damn…. You plowed thru a week already :tada::tada::tada::tada::tada:Hell ya. Lots of weird changes will occur in early sobriety…. The worst is over. Be patient and strong. You’ve come this far…. I’m proud of you. Double digits is just a few sleeps away :flexed_biceps::folded_hands::tada::blush:

Keep in mind that you can skip the wedding, or at least the reception, in order to protect your sobriety. Sobriety is our #1 priority, before friends, before family, before job, because without sobriety, we have no friends, family or job. Or in your case, quite possibly, also no freedom.

10 days. Double digits.
Made it through the wedding. Now headed to my favorite Shakespeare Play in an outside theater. My absolute favorite. Except I usually drink here. But I don’t want to start over at 0 days for a little crappy glass of wine. I was able to wake up at 7 am on a SATURDAY natually. This never happens.
I want to remeber this entire play and wake up refreshed tomorrow.
I can do this.
Just needed to check in and keep myself accountable.

Congratulations on 10 days:tada::tada::tada:…. I know it felt like an eternity for me. I was very very sick. Don’t let your brain convince that stopping is easy, it’s not. Staying stopped is what we work for everyday. Have fun at the play.:flexed_biceps::+1::folded_hands:

Well done Sparks. :trophy:

10 days is huge. Everything you do is better while sober. Glad to hear you’re getting out and having fun. You deserve a reward.

That conundrum has come up a lot for me too. Congrats on 10 days!

Congrats on 10 Days !! :tada:

@Sparks well done … You are making great progress. I am proud you are kicking ass…

People, places, things my friend. Don’t FAFO.

If you gotta go, have a plan. Tell everyone you don’t drink. Phone a friend if you need to. This is very early sobriety. Please be careful with it. God bless :folded_hands:

Had a great weekend. Made it through everything sober. Got to wake up today with no hangover. Now going to sleep alcohol free and ready to take on another week.
Weekends are the hardest for me. But glad I was able to do the events I had planned sober.
