Taking the word "alcoholic" off the table......ask yourself these simple questions and be honest with yourself....
Have you ever drank even tho you intended not to (you've already stated above you have)
Have you ever had negative consequences when drinking? (You've already stated above you have)
Have you ever tried to cut back or quit and found it difficult? (You've already stated above you have)
These things tell you, you have a addiction to alcohol, simply became addicted to an addictive substance. Just like any habit or addiction, it will be hard to quit and it will take some "work". Most important to remember is it is POSSIBLE!
AA, a sponsor, meetings, Smart recovery meetings, women for sobriety meetings......these are FREE resources that YES, you should most definitely take advantage of
What they have done for me, personally, is let me know I am not alone, let me know it is possible to get thru sobriety and turn it into a happy recovery, give me support and a whole heck of a lot of reading material to educate myself about addictions etc.
