Struggling with meth

New here, anxious and angry at myself. Meth relapse after 160 days clean from meth. Disgusted at my weakness and pretending I do do “just a little bit”. Completely lying to myself.

Don’t beat yourself down. It was amazing that you managed 160 days. Reset, focus and start again. You got this. Think about what triggered the relapse and next time you feel like you could relapse, come onto this forum and talk to some likeminded folks.

Thank you for responding. I needed that. I guess I just keep trying, but it’s rough. Doug.

I just responded on another thread but have you tried an NA meeting? They really do help. There may not be any in person ones available atm due to civic but listening in on a zoom one would help you get an idea of what the programme is about.

I have not tried an na meeting. Been to some CMA groups and zoom, but so ashamed and embarrassed to even talk about my porn and meth addiction.

I think that is something that most if not all of us feel regardless of the drug or activity our addiction centres on but it’s something that we really must do if we are to overcome this. Getting out of our comfort zones and becoming comfortable being uncomfortable ties in with the foundation’s of recovery otherwise we may well just be practising being a dry addict or as itmis described with alcohol a dry drunk.
At the end of the day the people there are going through virtually the same things as us so if you can get yourself through the door and focus on the similarities rather than the differance then I think that you will find that you no longer have those feelings of embarrassment or shame.:slight_smile:

Thank you. That’s some solid advice. The shame can be as hard to overcome as the drug use itself.
