the tenant crap sucks. it’s fucking annoying, costly and unnecessary bullshittery when you have to deal with this crap of people. had to evict some once long ago after i cleared my late dad’s heritage which also covered an unclosed heritage from his late cousin 🙈

Need to exhale all the negative stuff. Awoke at 5am realizing I was having a panic/anxiety episode.
Got offer for sale on family home. I signed agreement but buyer has not. Stated on the agreement buyer can take 45 days for inspections and cancel anytime.
Tenants are supposed to to be out Monday but I have no guarantee and have to refund the full $3000 deposit to get them out before they actually move. No inspection of house has been done and expecting it to be trashed. No more rental income and have to refund $900 to Housing who pays their rent.
Rental and personal home mortgages due and I have zero money to pay those.
Found out today hubby is buying some one else’s 10000 walnuts and making a deposit for $1000.
I simply have no control of any of these events.
Please HP grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
I’m tired and want to nap but impossible situation to be found napping when walnuts need to be harvested. Oh and 1 major piece of equipment broke down this morning . More manual hand work will need to be done.,
Remind me please it is beautiful here and I get to live in paradise. New kitten has been a great addition. Young hens are starting to lay eggs and it is a beautiful day.

Why would you have to return the deposit before you have a chance to inspect the property? I know here we have some time (I don’t know exactly how much - few weeks or a month) to review the property and access damages if any so you can take out of the deposit. Is this not the case for you guys?

I was thinking about this too. Our former landlady (we moved out a few months ago) refunded us only about 35% of our deposit. That has never happened to me before. She claimed we had ruined a certain area in the house. We had not, those marks were wear and tear, in our opinion. We didn’t fight it, going to court would have cost us astronomically more. Here, the landlord has 14 days after the ending of a lease to refund deposit, except for well grounded reasons, like fixing damage.

man that sucks! I thought you had to provide documented proof of the damage in order to keep any part of the deposit. Sorry that happened.

In order for tenants to move in to new apartment and get the hell out of my house they needed deposit paid in day of move in. Inspected my house today. So much debris inside and out remain. Also a cat was left in house. The smell of the interior was atrocious. A locked storage unit on property was broken into and all valuables have been removed and trashed. Cleanup will be thousands of $. I wanted them out but definitely will be taking these people to court. Only 9 months they lived there. These people really are the worst sort of people. Their 3 children don’t have a chance to grow up and not be like them.

Man that’s devastating. Some people really are the lowest of low. I am hopeful that you will recover something by taking them to court.
We’ve had some bad tenant experiences and I I wish they made the process easier to get damages paid for.
