Talk me down (shopping addiction)

I am working hard on all my various addictive tendencies. Almost 30 days alcohol free, and now I am having a HUGE urge to go spend money I don’t have on things that I don’t really need at all.

I’ve tried exercising, talking to friends, and the urge is still there. Suggestions?

Isolation can drive you crazy or make you do things you don’t normally do, congrats on 30 days. Stay sober my friend.

How about:
-a guided meditation
-yoga video
-reading recovery literature
-hot shower
-call a friend
-write a gratitude list

These are all things that help me when I am struggling.

Thank you!

I like the idea of a gratitude list. Could remind me of all the things I do have rather than what I don’t.

If you really want to get fancy and take some time with it, you could do an A-Z gratitude list, finding something starting with every letter of the alphabet.
