It was great

The thing is the sugar thing. This place is all organic. So it’s not like they’re pouring some sugary pumpkin syrup in it. A while back I OD on those things. Made me so sick. And I don’t want to do that again.

I’m not resetting I probably won’t have another. And it was dang great!
don’t tell anyone.
Don’t want to ruin my black coffee rep.

30 Al-Anoners were there. I was pretty nervous. I’ve done it many times in Scottsdale but not in such a big group. And I knew those people well after a couple of years. This is like only my 5th time at this meeting in a strange new California world. I firmly believe if I stay in my comfort zone I won’t recover. So I’m out there!!
Thanks for the vote of confidence.

It’s funny. I’d rather fill in for a no show than have to plan it in advance. That made it more nerve wracking for me.

You triggered a story… Today at my AA meeting our secretary couldn’t make it. So one of us who wants to begin service volunteered. Funny they said they were not prepared. Well how can you be prepared if you didn’t know you were going to substitute today. This person happens to be blind so relies on recorded preamble readings to repeat what needs to be said. They stumbled a bit and another of us happens to have memorized the words needed and helped out. I later thanked the helper. The helper said they secretary all the time but was so nervous when doing it from memory. They also nailed it. I so believe in the rooms there is a higher power (spiritual conscience) guiding the meeting to help all those who tune in.

Lol! So happy that you enjoyed it and even happier to hear it was the real deal and not some sugary syrup stuff. I too can’t do that stuff. I usually end up putting pumpkin spice seasoning in my black coffee for that extra kick / taste.

What a lovely treat after a kick ass meeting .
